Enniskillen Castle, situated beside the River Erne in County Fermanagh, was built almost 600 years ago by Gaelic Maguires. Guarding one of the few passes into Ulster, it was strategically important throughout its history. In the 17th century it became an English garrison fort and later served as part of a military barracks. This historic site houses two museums, Fermanagh County Museum and The Inniskillings Museum.

The railway was founded in 1985 with the intention of rebuilding the entire former Belfast and County Down Railway branch line to Ardglass; however, it soon became apparent that this was an unrealistic goal and instead the railway was or is being rebuilt to Inch Abbey and Ballydugan.

Watertop Open Farm

The name Watertop was chosen for the farm as a part of the Carey river rises as a fresh water spring nearby. The farm is a sheep farm, and we keep about 500 sheep, and 30 cows. In 1986 we opened our farm to the public and became the first open farm in Ireland.
Pony trekking began a lot earlier in 1969 and was part of the Loughareema Trekking Center. This was the basis of our open farm, which has since grown into an activity based attraction, as opposed to the traditional zoo-like open farms.
Carrick-a-Rede Island
